Holiday Gift Guide * Something Fun

From all my years of holiday gift giving, I’ve learned that the best gifts have an element of thoughtfulness that is fun! It’s also more enjoyable for me to look for these kinds of gifts. I’ve compiled a list of my favorites that will surely give your loved ones a sparkle of fun this holiday season.

For the glamour girl, this clutch and pair of earrings are the perfect set. I love this city guide and handy camping tool for the avid traveler. For that guy who appreciates good style, a bow tie and cufflinks are necessary accessories. Who doesn’t need a llama planter, winky pillow or donut snow tube in her life? And the “emergency” flask is simply a must-have!

p.s. In case you missed my other holiday gift guides, I made one for beauty and another for that special guy in your life.

Holiday Gift Guide * Beauty

I focus on fashion here but I happen to love beauty products too! And I think they make excellent gifts for the holidays. Gals might like the idea of changing up beauty habits for the new year and it’s fun to experiment with new colors in a beautiful palette of eyeshadow, lip glossnail polish or blush. For the beauty queen who travels a lot, this makeup kit has all the essentials to create a glamorous look.

As I approach my 39th birthday (later this month), I’ve been stepping up my skincare routine. My favorite products lately are this night treatment and this vitamin c serum, which I have recommended to all my friends! This mask is a luxurious treat and I am curious to try this one for purifying and this one for “beauty sleeping.” A good night cream (splurge/save) and a good eye cream (splurge/save) are things that every woman should have and as I grow older, a good lip treatment is an essential too.

I’ve always wanted big sexy hair. My curling iron is older than my first born son and I’m tempted to upgrade to this magic wand. Other beauty tools that I love are this blender sponge, a good makeup brush set and a cute clutch to store everything away.

I don’t get much down time as a mom but when I do, I love taking a sweet smelling bubble bath! The next best thing is a sweet smelling shower, which I also enjoy very much because it’s the only place in the house where I can truly be alone. :)

Holiday Gift Guide * Men

I’m a whizz when it comes to shopping but not when it involves shopping for a man! I suck at buying gifts for my poor husband. This year, I decided to step up my gift giving game and spent hours browsing my favorite stores for stylish gift ideas. If you are like me and generally stay away from techie things and gadgets (because he prefers to research and buy those on his own), this holiday gift guide might be a good cheat sheet. And I think the man in your life might appreciate the style boost!

For men, a good jacket, amazing accessories and killer shoes are key. I think that men also appreciate basics that feel really nice. Lately, I’ve been giving Chris a mini makeover. He’s not as bold about fashion as I am but I can tell he appreciates stylish elements. We switched out his cologne from the classic Bleu de Chanel to the more modern scent by Carven. We’re trying out some new sneakers. And he recently requested skinny jogger pants and “cool funky dress socks.” I also think he needs a new wallet with a sexy snake slithering across the cover! Definitely!

Black Friday Sales Part II

Ready for more Black Friday sales? This weekend will be a great opportunity to buy holiday gifts or update your wardrobe for the winter season (I’m planning to revamp my sweater shelf this year). As I mentioned in the previous post, many stores are likely to have sitewide promotions and it helps to be prepared. I like to browse in advance and make a list of my favorites. I shared my picks from Club Monaco, Ann Taylor, Express, Banana Republic and Steve Madden. These are a few more goodies on my wish list this weekend:

In addition, Net-a-Porter is having an amazing sale right now and things are selling out quickly. You don’t want to miss this one!

Black Friday Sales Part I

Black Friday sales are coming up and I aim to keep my shopping as quick and efficient as possible. (So that I have more time to spend with my family!) Many stores have held sitewide promotions in the past and I expect the same this year. I like to be prepared so I pinned my favorites from a few stores that I visit frequently, which are featured below. As soon as the sales hit the web and I’ve gobbled up my last bite of pumpkin pie, I am planning to handle all my shopping with just a few clicks.
