Red

Amanda Uprichard Dress c/o (love)
Mini Lady Dior Bag (save) | Zara Boots | #QuayxKylie Starstruck Sunglasses

Can you tell my favorite color to wear is red? Red is so bold in a beautiful way! The color of this dress might be the most perfect red I’ve seen (designer color “lipstick”). It’s a vibrant shade that is not too yellow or blue. If you’re looking for a cocktail dress, this one looks like a total stunner. It might be perfect for a moms’ Vegas trip that we have planned to see the Magic Mike show. Yep, we’re those kinda moms! ;) So let’s talk about the boots. I mean, come on! It’s not the kind of thing you’re going to wear every day but for $90, it’s a must have if you’re a gal who loves daring fashion (and who loves red). Add retro sunglasses in my favorite color and this might be one of the most fun outfits I’ve worn in awhile.

This summer has been a busy one for me. So busy that I had days when I thought about quitting this blog altogether. I truly love exploring and sharing fashion and I am so proud of the content that I create here because I do it with all my heart but it takes away from family time for sure. I have so much more to share but I need to take a break. I will be back on August 28 with the cutest overalls you’ve ever seen. Stay tuned!

Sun Wrap

Long Sun Wrap from Idlebird c/o
Nanette Lepore Antigua Swimsuit | Nannacay Bag | Loeffler Randall Vera Slides

Sun protection is a big priority for me. My boys can spend hours playing at the park or beach and they don’t seem to mind the blazing rays. As a mom, I’m constantly chasing them around with hats and sunblock, making sure that we’re always playing safely. Especially in LA, where the sun shines brightly on most days, we have to stock up on our sun protection gear.

I’m so happy to find this beautiful sun wrap from Idlebird! The wrap is versatile and can be tied into a stylish maxi skirt or dress, strapless or toga style. I can also use it as a cape to cover my shoulders when I’m watching my boys practice soccer in an open field. My favorite part about the wrap is the fabric. The fabric is lightweight, quick drying sun protection material that is similar to the fabric of swimwear. Because of the style, I can wear it for so many more activities than just swimming. You can bet I’m going to stash it in my tote bag for all my outdoor outings.

In addition to the wrap, Idlebird’s collection includes dresses, tops, pants and other clothing items that can be worn at the pool, beach or just out and about under the wonderful sun. Latest collection is here.

Big thanks to Idlebird for sponsoring this post. As always, all opinions are my own.

Bohemian Blouse

Free People Blouse | Express Culotte Jeans (similar)
Chloé Nile Bag (save) | Madewell Boardwalk Sandals (+colors)
Ann Taylor Earrings (love) | Ray-Ban Sunglasses

Sometimes, a beautiful bohemian blouse is all you need. This yellow ruffled beauty is going to take me through the rest of summer and all the autumn months. Choker neckline, cold shoulder embroidery, ruffled outlines and bell sleeves – there are so many details to love! It comes in various colors. Yellow is a perennial favorite for me but black/white is the most versatile choice. Pair it with cropped jeans and cute sandals for the rest of summer. When fall rolls around, it would look amazing with a pair of sharp booties too!

Polka Dots

Zara Polka Dot Top | Topshop Skirt (tallsimilar)
Saint Laurent Small Cabas Bag (similar, save) | Aquazzura Pumps (love, save)
RAEN Ashtray Oval Sunglasses (save)

I’m partial to stripes but fully embracing the polka dot trend! This top is a cutie. The neckline is sweet and the bow ties at the sleeves are extra feminine. (I tied half-bows to avoid looking overly sweet though.) The top looks great worn loose over jeans and pants. But my favorite trick for creating a feminine silhouette is to tuck a loose top into a high waisted skirt and pair with sky high heels. It’s a formula that works every time. New to the mix are a pair of sunglasses that take these polka dots from cute to retro fabulous!

Staud Bissett Bucket Bag

Staud Bissett Bucket Bag (+colors)
J. Crew Top (love) | Madewell Jeans (similar) | Converse Sneakers

This bucket bag from Staud is an amazing find! Not only is it beautifully made but it’s also a bargain for $350. Trust me, there are few brands that carry extremely chic, quality handbags at a good price point. Mansur Gavriel used to be the clear winner in this category but I am now equally devoted to Staud. Both brands are talented at capturing art in the form of handbags and selling them at prices that are easy on the wallet.

On to my review! As I mentioned, the quality is beautiful. Thick, hardy leather gives the bag great shape on the outside. Yummy suede of the same color makes the bag feel luxurious on the inside. A handy drawstring closure keeps things from falling out or being too exposed. And the size happens to be just right. Large enough to hold all the stuff I need without feeling bulky at all.

Petal pink is probably not your first choice for a handbag color (it is truly stunning however!). The good news is that this bag happens to be available in six dreamy colors that are mostly neutral. My second color choice would have been Whiskey with the shearling interior or a vibrant Cognac. So perfect for fall.

My favorite part about this bag is the versatility. I love to carry it in my hand as a bucket bag. But when I need to be handsfree, I can attach the strap to wear it as a crossbody bag. Gotta love a handbag that is artful and functional. I cannot tell you how many bags I own that are just very pretty to look at. :P

p.s. The Moreau bucket bag is what initially attracted me to this brand. It sold out quickly and broke my heart. But it’s available again as of today!
