Colorful Bodysuit For Date Night

At the age of forty, my date night outfits tend to be more fun than sexy (though I still try for sexy) and this colorful bodysuit is a good mix of both.

Lately, date nights are all about having a meal without the kids. Usually sushi because it’s the one thing that I can’t make at home. Since I’m sitting down most of the time, I skip the miniskirts and focus on my upper body. My favorite combo is a fun top with statement earrings. Zara is a great place to shop for inexpensive, trendy tops that are fun to wear for a night out. This colorful bodysuit is very 80’s, complete with mini shoulder pads. I paired it with funky jeans and love the vibe. By the way, I cut off the back pockets of the jeans to add some interest in the back. I love the look but find myself looking for the pockets occasionally. Oh well, fashion over function this time!

I may skip the miniskirts but when my kids aren’t around, I make sure to wear high heels. These simple sandals are my favorite. They go with everything and the black patent really makes them pop. I found a great save version here. If you prefer a lower heel, these sandals look perfect too.

What a festive, striking outfit that evokes the colors of spring! And the minimalist sandals provide a perfect grounding touch! Love it!

Wow Liz. Indeed I am an 80’s child and certainly this top brings back memories of mom trending those loud printed tops with padded shoulders. But hey fashion goes in circles and I would love to trend that top too! You make it look so chic and totally agree with you about focusing on the top and staying comfy for date night! Love those tassel earrings. Another great inspiration!
