Sweatshirt and Combat Boots

My mom uniform gets an edgy update from an oversized sweatshirt and combat boots!

When it’s cold outside, I can’t think of anything cozier than a sweatshirt. It’s the easiest thing to throw on when I’m rushing out the door in the early mornings. The funny thing is that before I bought this sweatshirt, I didn’t own any! I threw out all my sweats a few years ago when I decided to polish up my casual style. Lately, I’ve been learning that it’s possible to look stylish in sweats (another example here). The trick is to choose a top or bottom in a nice material with stylish details. Even a simple detail like the chunky drawstring on this sweatshirt makes it cool to wear with jeans. I’m planning to try it with a long skirt next!

I wore combat boots throughout my teens so I’m excited that they’re back. These boots are a splurge but I couldn’t resist the dreamy white color and the edgy buckle. They are sexy with denim shorts and instantly cool with feminine dresses. With jeans, they’re the perfect match for creating an effortlessly chic yet casual look. I’ve featured some less expensive options below in case you want to try them too.
